LOST AT SEA is a series of works by artist Brendan Van Hek, featuring new installation and drawing work. Through a continued exploration of materials Van Hek mines the possibilities inherent in neon, glass, mirror and acrylic. This new significant body of work takes the notion of being ‘lost at sea’ as a way of exploring the idea of an uncertain future, unknown directions, or indeed the often precarious nature of contemporary existence.
Van Hek is a multidisciplinary Sydney based artist whose practice largely spans sculpture, installation and drawing. Originally from Perth, Van Hek relocated to Sydney in 2011 where he continues to exhibit nationally and internationally.
