The inaugural HERE&NOW ‘12, curated by Katie Lenanton, opened last Friday night at the University of Western Australia’s Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery. It boasts new bodies of work by two of Venn Gallery’s current exhibiting artists, Tom Freeman and Clare Peake.

Presenting the work of four contemporary early-career local artists, HERE&NOW’12 aims to exhibit activities of artist-run initiatives (ARIs), craft-based practices and DIY endeavours within the scope of the gallery. It provides an insightful analysis of the artistic landscape unique to Western Australia in 2012.

Venn Gallery’s group exhibition, Spatial Drawing, will be on display until Friday 31 August 2012.
