An exciting collaboration between Venn represented artist Tané Andrews and leading WA label One Fell Swoop will be unveiled tomorrow night as a highlight of the 2013 Perth Fashion Festival program. The event will see the catwalk transfromed into a theatrical live installation incorporating models, artwork and projections at the Fashion Paramount, Peroni Prive, WA Musuem.

Guests who attended the Perth Fashion Festival launch on Wednesday evening, 11 September, wittnessed a preview of the partnership's output as their creations opened the evening's showcase. The West Australian captured all of the action, including a few words from Andrews, on film, here.

With the festival celebrating its fifteenth ‘crystal’ anniversary this year, One Fell Swoop and Andrews' much anticipated 2014 Autumn Winter collection has taken on a theme inspired by crystals and organic forms.

Daniel Romanin, one of the two designers behind One Fell Swoop, explains: "Tane's techniques of growing crystals, laser cutting materials and fine ink rendered drawings, accompanied with our signatures of elegant draping, clean lines and a sensitive handling of dyeing and printing, will create a fashion installation unseen before in WA".

This is an extension of a technique first explored in Andrews' body of work for time bids be gone, shown at Heathcote Gallery earlier this year. In addition to drawing and kinetic sculptural works, the artist grew crystals onto laser cut paper forms for his joint exhibition with Moira de la Hunty. Andrews' elaborates on this process in a recent interview for What's The Goh.
