Now in its sixth year, Pure Contemplation Without Knowledge is a diverse group show, highlighting the works of some of Perth’s mid-career artists.

Tom Freeman explains his new series of works produced especially for the exhibition:
“All of these works are attempts at abstraction, an insular process of visually representing my own artworks. They're part of an ongoing body of works that are each based on a previous artwork, which is based on a previous artwork, which is based on a previous artwork. It's a potentially endless loop of self-referentiality which allows some play and freedom to explore shapes, materials, textures and colours”

The beautifully formed and considered artworks are typical of Freeman’s approach to producing work that focuses on process and highlights his sensitive and refined approach to working with materials.

A number of the works are available to acquire and if you would like further details about this, please contact the gallery on 08 9321 8366 or

Pure Contemplation Without Knowledge 6 finishes this weekend and the last day to see the exhibition is Sunday 28 September.
